What information do we collect?

When you sign up for HelloDrifter (the "Site"), we request that you supply us with information that will identify you as a user. This information initially includes your name, email address, and country, and we encourage you to provide other information to flush out your user profile (e.g., picture, location details).

In order to best use the Site, we also encourage you to connect your Site account with Facebook and/or Strava. We store as little data as necessary to ensure a smooth experience of the Site. With respect to Facebook, we store your profile picture url (if you don't have one already), your Facebook user id, and any ids of your Facebook friends that also use the Site. In addition, we store the email address provided to us by Facebook in the event that you signed up for the Site using Facebook. With respect to Strava, we store your Strava user id, the user ids of your Strava followers, and data relating to any Strava clubs of which you are a member (e.g., the club's name, a URL to the club's picture, and the club's id).

What do we do with this information?

The information we request and collect from you with respect to your personal profile allows us and other users on the Site can interact with you and distinguish you from other users. We may also use the information you provided to us to contact you regarding your account, either directly or facilitated through third-party software products. The information we collect and store from Strava and Facebook allows the Site to connect you with your Facebook and Strava connections. The Site does not sell your personal information to any third party.

Is my information secure?

Your personal information is protected by your password. Do not share this password with anyone. The Site will never contact you unsolicited to ask for your password. While we have taken steps to ensure our databases are secure, and are confident in our ability to keep your information safe, it is possible that the Site could be victimized by a third-party hacker. In that event, we will be sure to notify you as soon as feasible or after consultation and direction from the appropriate authorities.

If you would like us to destroy any personal or other identifying data associated with your account, you can simply request that we do so by reaching out to us using the "Contact us" link at the bottom of the page, or click here. We will delete your account and any identifiable data associated with your account upon a reasonable amount of time after receiving your request.

What about cookies?

The site stores a cookie on your computer to track you while you are on the site. The information in this cookie is a string of characters that is meaningless to everyone and everything except our server. No personal information or bid information is stored in the cookie. The information in the cookie cannot be used by third parties to gain access to your account information.
